Tooth decay, and the cavities it causes, is the #1 chronic disease for children, and 40% of children will develop dental problems before they even reach kindergarten. To set up your child for success, start good oral hygiene habits early by caring for teeth and gums even before their first tooth emerges. Not only does the ISSA mikro prevent issues in the future—it’s also a great way to get your child used to brushing their teeth twice a day, every day.
Existing products just don’t work—washcloths don’t clean well, nylon bristles are harsh on gums, and electric children’s toothbrushes can chip teeth or cause a choking hazard. So we decided to design something better. The breakthrough ISSA mikro uses sonic power and food-grade silicone to make brushing your baby’s teeth safe, effective, and fun for you and your child.

How did you come up with the idea for this product?
Our Vice President Antonius was inspired to create the ISSA mikro when he was spending time with his nephews one summer. He saw them playing with a giraffe toy for hours, but saw them fuss and struggle with the simple act of brushing for even 30 seconds. That’s when it hit him—why not make a children’s toothbrush that is as fun and safe as their favorite toys? He knew FOREO’s sonic technology worked, but wanted to make something that babies would actually want to use. After thousands of design iterations and relentless safety testing, we created the ISSA mikro–the world’s first electric toothbrush that makes brushing safe, effective, and fun.
